Open Studio Trail October
The monthly Open Studio Trail will recommence on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29th October. Spring is still in the air and the country side is looking lovely and fresh after the recent spring rains.
It is just two months until Christmas so this is a great opportunity to get out and about visiting the Open Studios and to pick up some beautiful and original gifts.
Once again this month we have some very talented artists working in Mosaics, Painting, Sculpture, Printmaking and much more. Come and meet the Chris Blake, Christine Elcoate, Belinda Stanton, Barbara Wilcocks, Annie Macintosh, Glenys Fentimen, and Cathryn Cogill.

My studio is part of my home. The property faces east to ever changing views overlooking Buderim and the ocean. Once in my roomy driveway you will find my studio by walking through the pergola down to the sliding doors. There is plenty of car parking in the driveway or on the very wide footpath at the front of the property. Disabled access is also available.

Chris Blake – Artist
The Blake studio was designed and built by Chris as a studio/gallery/ home in 2000 but being an owner builder it was a few years before it was opened. Built on an acre property it has a circular driveway [come in on the second entry] and it has ample parking for 6 cars or a couple of mini buses [being a dead end street there is safe parking on the road also]. The house set on stumps is of a loft home design with the main Gallery occupying the ground floor. The studio upstairs overlooks the pond-age area from the rear balcony and is a mecca for wildlife [birds and water dragons]. The garden has been planted over the years with callistemon and other flowering scrubs and trees to create a garden for wildlife. There is as yet no wheelchair access.

Cathryn Cogill – Artist – Xaliki Art Studio
My studio is located on the leafy Kiel Mountain ridge and looks down on to the Big Pineapple. It is a purpose-built art studio recently completed in May 2016. The studio features a spacious work zone with abundant natural light and gallery style hanging throughout.
There is car parking space for three cars on the studio property and there is further car parking for eight cars in a designated car park, fifty metres away.

My studio is full of colour and containers. There is glass ranging from full sheets right down to tiny shards. I don’t waste any glass, it’s too valuable.
Separate areas for storage, cutting, grinding, grouting and soldering make it easy to have several projects underway at once.
Parking is easy on the street right outside. My studio is at the top of a few steps up from the footpath.

Please Note: Annie’s Studio will only be open on Sunday 29th
Annie McIntosh lives on a farm outside Peachester fulfilling the dream of painting her surrounding landscape and environs. Over the years she has accumulated a lot of ideas, and now cannot paint fast enough or often enough. Her large garden is a constant source both of solitude and vitality—the rambling plants, the light and shade, the enormous variety of life.
Annie’s studio is situated outside Peachester, south of Maleny. From the Kilcoy-Beerwah Rd, turn into the delightfully scenic River Rd. Drive approximately 5km , cross a double concrete bridge, and follow the signs to an original Queenslander farmhouse, situated right at the roadside amongst pasture and forest. Access is easy, lots of parking.
