All of Leisa’s works are influenced by her local surroundings (Booloumba Creek) as she tries to capture the essence of this 325 million year old valley in all her work. Using rocks, sand, clay, ochre, ash, wood and local species of rainforest foliage. Other media is acrylic, graphite, natural fibres and glass. All work is one of a kind and completely unique. Leisa offers workshops for adults or children’s parties, festivals or just for personal development.
Leisa completed an Advanced Diploma of visual arts at Tewantin TAFE 2014.
Leisa has won several awards for her ceramics and has participated in several exhibitions.
Leisa has 3 passions; the rainforest, geology and creating artwork that is organic in form and substance. Her paintings and drawings are a reflection of how she sees the rainforest, and her ceramics is more about how she feels as these beautiful and irreplaceable eco systems struggle to survive. Geology highlights the beauty that is hidden beneath our feet which is intrinsic to all life on earth. Leisa uses art as an opportunity to capturing the essence of our forests in the substance that gave it life to start.
