Dorothy Peall is an award winning Australian artist who lives on the beautiful Blackall Range in South Eastern Queensland. Art has always been Dorothy’s great interest and, as well as in Australia, her paintings can be seen in Zimbabwe, South Africa, the United Kingdom and Greece.
After emigrating from Zimbabwe with her husband & family and settling in Mapleton, she joined the Sunshine Coast Art Group in Buderim, where her work has sold through their gallery in Maroochydore. Dorothy is also a member of Blackall Range Visual Artists, successfully selling paintings at their well-known art exhibitions. These are held five times each year at the heritage-listed, St.Mary’s Hall, on the Montville Village Green. Work that gives her the most pleasure is to paint Australian landscape & birds, animal portraits and people portraits.
During 2013 Dorothy won a number of awards: at Kenilworth-LGI Art Competition with her pastel of Mary Valley View Point called Sunset on Obi Obi Crossing; second prize in the Floral Section of the Alan Reading Memorial Art Awards, for her pastel entitled Camellias in the Pink; awarded third prize at the Nambour Show for her entry in Section 7, Class 3, an acrylic work she called Krazy Kookaburras and won a Highly Commended for her acrylic painting Tranquility at Taman Sari at BRVA’s Hinterland Heartbeat Exhibition.
