Maree has an Advanced Diploma in Visual Arts and has continued her studies through several workshops, the latest with Award winning landscape painter Amanda Penrose Hart. Through this exploration of process and commitment to her daily practice Maree has created a unique language.
She admires the work of esteemed artist such as Ildiko Kovacs, Aida Tomescu, Helen Frankenthaler and Chinese/French artist Zao Wou Ki. Their use of colour, form and line to create emotion and connect with the viewer resonate deeply with Maree.
A visit to her magic block perched high up among the trees is a unique experience and you will enjoy talking to the artist about her process and seeing her eclectic collection of paintings, ceramic sculptures and vessels.
She has been exhibiting in group and solo exhibitions since her graduation in 2018 and has also won several awards including Siliceous Award for ceramic excellence ,Ceramics Arts Queensland (student award) and the CQ University Exhibition Space Award.
