I am an Artist and Art Teacher. Originally from South Australia, I moved to the Sunshine Coast in 2005 after living and working in London. My artworks comprise Paintings which are generally abstract and semi-abstract based upon improvisations and stylisations of the world around me, using shapes and lines. My work is an exploration of colour, texture, form and dramatic use of lines. I was a specialist Art Teacher in Primary and High Schools for over 23 years before finishing up midway through 2021. I now continue to share my knowledge and skill with others by running a wide range of Art classes for both Adults and Children from my studio in Palmview. I also has a series of “How to Draw” lessons on my YouTube Channel.
For my paintings, I use predominantly Acrylic paints and various mediums to achieve the detailed lines and shapes. I am inspired mostly by nature, with boats and landscapes featuring in much of my work, reflecting my love of the sea. Recently, I have been exploring Acrylic Pouring and Fluid Art and am excited to continue on this learning curve. My passion lies in encouraging children to draw from a young age, and I have a YouTube Channel with a number of child-friendly ‘How to draw’ tutorials to inspire children to create.
