Jewellery, mixed media
I am a self-taught Jewellery Artist. My journey began in 2009 and I am continuing to strive to expand into areas and skills that are unique to this field. My inspiration comes from the world around me and I am a firm believer that you cannot fully capture the beauty found around us so why not incorporate real items into my work to capture that beauty forever.
I am a mixed media artist working in numerous media including resin, latex, metal, paints, dyes, inks, silicone, fibres, foams, electro-forming, wire and I specialise in creating pieces using real (ethically obtained) butterflies, insects and snake sheds(moults).
More About Me
I love to tell a story or create a sense of whimsy and fantasy with my pieces and create many wearable art and costume pieces for pop-culture fans, mermaids, festival goers and was also commissioned to create pieces for the 2018 Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers lead parade float.
My work has been featured in numerous beading magazines as well as having designer profiles published in national magazines. Products that I have created are also available through some of the SEQ museums and gift shops.
I have won a number of design challenges, both locally and internationally for my work. I have taught workshops for many years at Cobb and Co Museum as one of their artisans as well as at large events like Woodford Folk Festival, the Planting Festival and the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers.
