Richard Muldoon, ACI PresidentHello to all our valued members and friends,

We hope you are all keeping safe through this testing time. On behalf of the Arts Connect Inc. Committee, I’m updating you on the status of our events, workshops, and exhibitions for 2020.

Unfortunately, due to the State and Federal Governments’ restrictions we have suspended all our events, workshops and exhibitions until further notice.

Workshops: All workshops have been cancelled and will be rescheduled once we have the all clear from the authorities to safely do so. Thanks to Megan Bice and her team for handling this and keeping all those affected informed.

Open Studios: This event has been cancelled for May/June 2020, and we will reschedule for early 2021 once we can clear some dates.

All current registrations will carry over to 2021. The Open Studios website will continue to develop and we encourage artists interested in participating in OSSC to sign up to utilise the online profile and Open Studios ‘By Appointment’ feature. We will roll this feature out over coming weeks as well as other promotional material and online content that we will be creating with our exisiting registrations. We encourage existing registrations to remain registered and make use of these features, whilst supporting us creating this event.

Much thanks to the great work Toni Eggleston has done getting us this far. Her work has been nothing short of amazing!

Exhibitions: Currently all exhibitions and planning are on hold until we have a clearer view of what we will be allowed to plan for later in the year, and into 2021. This will mean the Mary Cairncross Reserve Centre exhibition will be cancelled unless we are informed otherwise over coming weeks.

Sculpture On The Edge: Our annual sculpture prize is currently cancelled for 2020. Should things turn around in the near future, we may be able to deliver this event for October 2020, however we cannot guarantee this.

New Arts Connect Inc Website: We have been working on the brand new Arts Connect Inc. website, and we are looking forward to sharing it with you within a couple of weeks. This new website, thanks to the wonderful work of designer Kim Herringe, will offer members as well as visitors to the site an infinitely more enjoyable and informative experience than our current site. Stay tuned for the release announcement.

Newsletter: Our monthly newsletter will continue so please let us know of any news you might have to share with the wider arts community. Contact Jacky with your ideas here.  If you’re not already signed up, you can join the mailing list in the sidebar to the right, or scroll to the bottom of the page and you’ll see the signup in the footer.

Finally I would like to add we will be working on other ways of offering value to you our members and friends, whilst working within the parameters of the restrictions due to the virus. Unfortunately it will be difficult for us to deliver our usual program. However, we will still be producing our ever informative Newsletter thanks to Jacky Lowry, and we will be working on online content. We encourage all members to support us by retaining your membership and when due, by paying your small membership fee contribution to help us resume our usual program once it’s safe to do so.

Regards,
Richard Muldoon
