DRAWING, MIXED MEDIA, PAINTING, PRINTMAKING
I work in a variety of media, such as watercolours, gouache, acrylics, Derwent Inktense, pencil and pens.
I am interested in experimenting with and using several techniques including gel-block printing, physical and digital collage, and digital image manipulation. Many of my works use a combination of methods.

More About You
Sunshine Coast based artist Maisie-Jane lives in the hinterland near Maleny. She is in the second of her creative periods as an artist. From 1978 to 1985 she primarily painted mandalas in gouache using sacred geometry as an underlying design tool. She also used linocut and woodblocks to create small works.
In her second creative art period post 2018 she has used mixed-media on paper, acrylic on canvas, collage, digital art and lately gelplate printmaking. In her canvases she has explored meta-representation and symbology from Hinduism and Buddhism. She is inspired by both natural form and myth and ritual (especially in Bali where she has often visited to focus on art practice). She has receny taught a number of small group workshops in the technique of gelplate printmaking.
Reconnecting with art has given Maisie a renewed outlet for her creativity, an open ended learning process, and a new and inspiring community both locally and internationally.
Recent exhibitions include Maleny Library June 2024, Joy Collective Maleny Oct-Dec 2024, Chenrezig Institute Jan 2025.
