The Fibre Art group was formed in 1987 by a small group of women. The group now has 35 members which attracts link-minded creatives who work with fibre in a variety of techniques and individual methods.

The artists are highly skill and have had work in national and international exhibitions. Skill enhancement workshops are held throughout the year keeping artists in touch with the latest trends in contemporary textile art. Artists explore and experiment in many interdisciplinary techniques such as silk painting, shibori and indigo dyeing, eco printing and eco dyeing, weaving, batik, felting, hand and machine embroidery, collage/mixed media and the manipulation of paper and fibre.
