AVENIDA ARTSPACE in Western Avenue Montville, on the Sunshine Coast, is run by art practitioner and teacher Barbie Hooper, a highly trained artist and experienced teacher of both children and adults. She is a frequent exhibitor both in Queensland and New South Wales, where she did her university degrees and teaching before moving to Montville 5 years ago.

Barbie’s artistic expression now comes from her regular European travel experiences and her great love of the peaceful life on the mountain in the Blackall Ranges. She loves sharing her experience and knowledge generously with friends and students.

Avenida Artspace is the catalyst for a fine friendships and the emerging talent of the women being exhibited. Enthusiasm, inspiration and motivation have combined for these new artists, who have joyfully worked together for their first ever exhibition.

All these artists are embarking on a longed-for opportunity for self-expression, for making art, and for exploring and sharing their creativity.
