In one week’s time I’ll be opening my exhibition “Faces, Spirits & Stories” in Pomona, featuring a collection of original works inspired by people, place, emotion and imagination.

Working primarily in watercolour and gouache, my paintings range from expressive portraits, hinterland communities and moments gathered through travel and observation. Much of my work focuses on the emotional power of the eyes and silent stories they can hold.

The exhibition includes portraits, local characters, landscapes and colourful contemporary pieces influenced by places such as Nimbin and the Sunshine Coast hinterland.

I’m drawn to subject that evoke feeling – resilience, innocence, sorrow, mystery, spirit and human connection – and I use colour intuitively to help tell those stories.
