PAINTING
In my current artistic practice I am interested in universal thematic roots of language, belief and spirituality. In my work I seek to explore the antecedents of these aspects of our shared humanity. In my landscapes I strive to reflect that exploration in a mystical, mythical and ephemeral manner. I variously employ icons, symbols and signs used by pre-literate peoples world wide, exploring how meaning was and is created.

More About You
Retirement has given me space to indulge my lifelong interest in painting. Prior to retirement I was a university lecturer/course coordinator in graphic and web design/development for 7 years. Concurrent and previous to this I worked for 23 years as a graphic and web designer/developer completing sizeable and complex projects for both education and corporate clients. Before that I worked for 10 years as a weaver in 3D and multi media, successfully finishing large works for private and corporate clients.
