After a successful career as an art teacher Shelley moved to the Sunshine coast. Inspired by the beauty and inspiration of the surrounding environment Shelley began to explore the mediums of painting and drawing. She enjoys working in a vibrant and expressive way using acrylic paint. Shelley has exhibited in local galleries and completes commissions. She also enjoys creating Vintage style journals.

More About You
I am very curious about the reason I am so focused on using the images of beach shacks in my work. I feel that they represent one of the best parts of my childhood holidays growing up in the 1970’s. We had a beach house on the far south coast of NSW, a place to roam free, to fish and swim and be in a space where a simpler time existed.
Specifically, I love the windows in houses because they make me feel like I am coming home to a place of security…a feeling of looking inwards. Nostalgia and memory inform my painting practice but also permeate my other creative pursuits like op shopping, vintage wares and clothing styles.
