In this 3-day workshop you will be sculpting in plastelina on armature from a female model in the studio. You will gain an understanding of basic human proportion, forms and major masses as elements of the language of gesture essential for a figurative sculptor. This will include an introduction to basic musculature and anatomy for the sculptor. Work will commence with armature making, with the workshop providing the time required to develop the broad gesture of the pose to the finer extension through the face and hand. At the completion of the workshop, you will have created a quarter scale sculpture of the model that is durable and suitable for further stages of moulding and casting in a variety of materials including wax, epoxy, plaster or bronze. Moulding and casting are not included in this workshop.

No experience is necessary and all participants can work at their own pace.

All materials, model, modelling stands will be provided for workshop use. Participants are welcome to bring their favourite modelling tools.
