- Receipt and adoption of the Minutes of the 2022 Annual General Meeting held 14th December 2022
- Receipt and adoption of the Minutes of the General Meeting held 5th August 2023
- Receipt of the 2023 Annual Report
- Showcase of Past & Upcoming Events
- Receipt of the 2023 Annual Financial Report
- Appointment of the Auditor for 2024.
- Motion: “that the members approve an increase of the annual membership fees from $55.00 to $60.00, effective from 1st January 2024” (AUD, GST inclusive)
- Election of Management Committee
In accordance with our Model Rules (v5), financial & honorary members are entitled to vote on all resolutions put forward and take part in the election of the Management Committee.
However, a (financial) member is not entitled to vote at a general meeting if the member’s annual subscription is in arrears at the date of the meeting (29.1.f).
A member may appoint a proxy who may be a member of the association or another person (29.1.l). The proxy must be lodged with the Secretary prior to the start of the meeting using the appropriate proxy vote form (29.1.j-o)
At each annual general meeting of the association, the members of the Management Committee must retire from office, but are eligible, on nomination, for re-election (13.3).
In accordance with the QLD Associations Incorporations Act 1981, each nominee must meet certain requirements as set out at the end of this notice.
Any 2 members of the association may nominate another member to serve as a member of the Management Committee using the appropriate nomination form (14.1.a-b).
Nomination forms must be returned to the Secretary by midnight Tuesday 24th October 2023, preferably attached by email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please ensure sufficient time for delivery if sending by post to PO BOX 1033, Maleny QLD 4552.
A list of nominees will be emailed to all members 7 days prior to the AGM.
POSITIONS ON THE MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE
President: Represents the association at public events and chairs all general and management committee meetings of the association.
Vice-President: Represents the President when the President is unavailable.
Secretary: Calls general and management committee meetings; Records and keeps Minutes of those meetings; Receives incoming correspondence and makes outgoing correspondence as required; Maintains the membership register.
Treasurer: Maintains the financial records and payments of the association.
Eight (8) Management Committee positions: Active in the decision making and essential in the efficient running of the association.
LEGAL REQUIREMENTS FOR NOMINATION TO THE MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE
In accordance with the QLD Associations Incorporations Act 1981, each nominee must be an adult of 18 years of age or older, and have not been convicted of an offence within the last 5 years as set out in section 61A(1) of the Act, nor bankrupt as set out in section 61A(2) of the Act. If nominating for Secretary, the nominee must be a resident of Queensland or live within 65km of the Queensland border as set out in section 66 of the Act. Arts Connect Inc advises all nominees, in accordance with section 70 of the Act, that it has Public Liability Insurance to the value of $20 Million.
