Glenda Borchards’ paintings are immersive views into other worlds, perhaps better described as portals into cerebral whimsy: thought-provoking, engaging and fascinating.
Her paintings are searches for beauty, usually with an expression of fragility and nostalgia. Her paintings are complex, unique, and personal all at the same time. Through her work, she searches for the place where the composition of objects takes the viewer on a journey – into the recall of forgotten memories, into thoughtfulness.
She paints what is near to her, but also what is in each one of us – a delight in a distant view, a positive future formed from the experiences of the past.
Borchard’s works are acquired by collections around Australia and internationally.
