DRAWING, SCULPTURE, PAINTING

I am a mid-career artist living between Bargara and the Sunshine Coast, Queensland who came to the visual arts later in life. I obtained my BVA at Adelaide Central School of Art in 2014 and work across a range of disciplines and produce 2D and 3D works in a variety of media.

MEDIA

I draw, sculpt and paint using a variety of approaches and materials, including some unconventional media such as rust, salt, acid and other corrosive materials. With a strong emphasis on the material response and the processes used for creative production, my sculptural explorations also utilise a variety of materials including clay, plaster, timber, wax, resin and salt, often in combination with other found objects.
In the last 5 years I have predominantly focussed on mosaics using hand-cut ceramic and porcelain tiles, crockery, smalti, glass and natural stone.

More About Me

I have held a solo mosaic exhibition and created a number of mosaic public art commissions installed in Bundaberg and Maryborough. I have recently facilitated the design and creation of a major community mosaic project; holding community mosaic workshops, building skills in a pool of volunteers, and creating a 42 sq metre mosaic public art installation on the public toilets at Archie’s Beach, Bargara. This project involved more than 250 volunteers contributing more than 6,500 hours. I have also developed a mosaic art trail on Bargara Headlands Estate in Innes Park.
While planning for the next series of community mosaic projects and undertaking commission work, I continue to exhibit in group shows within the local area and run occasional sculpting workshops.
