CERAMICS, Sculpture

I love working with abstract ideas and images based on landscape and elements of design, especially line and texture. I translate the ‘essence’ of the inspiration into my art work. The simple, honest and noble elements reflect the ‘wabi sabi’ philosophy of Zen Buddhism.

MEDIA

My 2D work explores a variety of gestural mark making techniques, which often evolve into artist book forms. I am also a prolific printmaker – creating manipulated digital images, cyanotypes and direct transfer prints which are then finished with highlights and details in gouache, water colour and pen and ink.

My 3D work includes jewellery from recycled metals and found objects and small intimate ‘objects’ exploring time and space, which give the elements a new lease on life.
