Responding to visible stimuli, scents & sounds of landscape, sub-tropical environments, coastlines, weather events, social issues, ‘gems found around me’ and art media ‘accidents’ is what motivates my creativity. Feelings evoked by nature’s majesty or the ‘sparkle’ in everyday objects and scenes topple onto my canvases during the process of creating art. Sometimes the scene dictates the process and other times the mixed media, directs, commands & asserts its way over the creation itself. My work is captured in the phrase ‘Abstract Clarity’. My artistic ‘super power’ is igniting a creative spark in others and love to enable their artistry. You can find me most days in my studio immersed in my own work or working to assist another. Helping to connect creativity and emotional outlet is also a major driver.

Media

Mixed media is exciting because it allows me to push boundaries, problem solve and also be surprised during the art process itself. Creativity is a joy and the plethora of media available with so many possibilities to explore sees me constantly evolving as an artist. Having taught and tutored professionally for years I have tried most styles and processes and will continue to look for something new and then an unconventional way to use it!
